In the summer of 2021 I set off from near my base in Portuguese region of the Algarve, with a plan to walk to Santiago de Compostela and beyond. It was a lonely walk, but I managed to achieve what I set out to do. Three and a bit years later and I finally published my book called Footsteps through Portugal; a long walk through olive groves and cork.
This was me at the start of my walk from Cabo Sao Vicentina, in the South West extreme of Portugal, and Europe!

I plan to write at least two more books in the near future, one about walking across Spain and another about Western Australia’s Bibbulmun Track.
It takes a long time to write a book! I now have much appreciation for anyone who has written one.
