I left DRV around 11am knowing I had a short day ahead of me. I had some more food in the general store and then walked up the Donnelly Oval which is a cricket pitch entirely surrounded by huge Karri trees! My main purpose for going there was the fact it’s where there was strong phone signal (typical hiker trash!).
It was pretty up and down and this section is known for being one of the toughest. It’s funny but I always seem more tired as I approach camp on shorter days. This one was only around 16 km but I tired as I entered camp and said hi to the only other camper.
The other camper was just out for one day and didn’t say much which suited me fine as I was too tired to talk much and go through the usual camp chat.
